Geoff Norcott - I Blame the Parents

The fourth national bout for Geoff Norcott, following on the dorsum of Conswervative, Traditionalism and Taking Liberties.

This time Geoff talks less politics (alright, there will probably be a chip), but this brand-new prove will mostly explore personal responsibility, parenting and who should take the blame when things go incorrect.

Whatever happened to the idea of personal responsibility? In the age of victimhood, information technology seems like whatever's wrong with your life information technology can be blamed on someone else. Governments, employers… some bigot from four hundred years agone.

Where did it go wrong? It has to be the parents. Every generation in that location's an opportunity for a new set up of mums and dads to gear up their kids straight and make a stand against whatever trendy nonsense is currently doing the rounds. But do we? Or is it easier to requite into fear and the pursuit of a tranquillity life?

Geoff has realised he's also a purse of contradictions. Raised on a due south London council manor by two maverick parents, there's plenty he has to sift through. His Dad was a trade union man who obsessed over stocks and shares. His mum was a closet chauvinist and far likewise frank on the field of study of sex activity.

With a kid of his own, Geoff spies a ane-off take a chance for his family unit to finally get information technology right and produce a balanced human being, only can he filter out his own bollocks before information technology gets to his son?

WHY? 'Sets himself apart from the liberal commentariat with a sharp self-knowing wit ★★★★ The Times
